We have worked together with  OLS system to create a machine that rolls downhill over rocks and bumps at full speed. Myotragus bikes have been built around a bold suspension system that avoids clichés and stands out from the mainstream.

The rear wheel’s trajectory describes a practically straight line inclined backwards, which aligns with the impact force vectors due to the terrain to significantly improve its absorption capacity. In addition, with the versatility offered by the OLS System, we have configured the suspension pivot points in such a way that pedaling is firm and effective, with practically zero pedal kickback.

Plus, you can customize the geometry, some frame specs, and colors to match your unique style!

Opposite Link Suspension System

OLS System is a new patented suspension system from the family of virtual pivots “Virtual Pivot Point” (VPP). It consists of a main or front triangle, a swingarm triangle and two links (upper crank and lower crank) that control the movement of the swingarm relative to the main triangle, and define the path of the rear wheel axle.

The feature that makes the OLS System unique is that the lower link rotates counterclockwise, if we look at the bike from the chain side, and serves as a support for an “idler pulley” sprocket, which acts as a floating chain derailleur.

What does this system offer compared to other VPP systems or high single pivot systems (HPP)?

The OLS System allows us to create rear axle paths with setback, with Anti-Rise values lower than an HPP and to largely make the Anti-Squat and Sway curves independent. Pedal-Kickback. By playing with these elements and the shock/wheel compression ratio, we can optimize different kinematics for each MTB modality and obtain the desired bike behavior in each case.

OLS Kinematics

The rear wheel axle follows a practically linear path angled backwards. This translates into:

  • Better impact absorption and lower loss of momentum, because the wheel moves in the same direction as the impacts, resulting in more speed through rough sections.

  • The wheelbase does not shorten as much as on bikes with a more neutral or forward axle path, so the bike maintains greater stability.

It has been designed with 3 clearly distinct phases, allowing it to better adapt to different impact sizes.

  • First phase: a high ratio to improve initial sensitivity over small bumps.
  • Mid phase: a smoother progression for a more absorbent and predictable behaviour.
  • Final phase: more progressive to prevent harsh bottom-outs that can make you lose control on big landings.

In the case of the electric enduro model, we remove this final phase, as it is not focused on big jumps, allowing the bike to make better use of the full travel.

The values increase from the beginning to the end of the travel and, from the SAG area onwards, they are slightly above 100%. The goal was to achieve a suspension that remains firm when accelerating while pedalling, and as stable as possible across all gear ratios.

At the end of the travel, the values are too high, but we will never be pedalling in that area.

It is a fundamental parameter for pedalling comfort over rough terrain.

The values in the SAG area show that pedal kickback is virtually zero with downhill gear ratios and low with larger gear ratios. This means that suspension movement will not cause significant rearward pedal rotation.

OLS adjustable dropout system

Our adjustable dropout system makes it easy to adapt the rear center length and switch between 27.5” and 29” wheels depending on the terrain and riding style. A single CNC-machined dropout offers four different configurations, allowing quick and precise setup changes by simply loosening four bolts.

System benefits

Adjusting the dropout position allows the rider to fine tune the bike’s behaviour depending on terrain and riding preferences.

  • A shorter rear center improves agility and makes the bike more playful and responsive.
  • A longer rear center increases stability and confidence at higher speeds or on rough terrain.

Combined with the possibility to run 27.5” or 29” wheels, the system offers a high level of versatility.
