CREATION OF A MUNTANÉ FULL BALANCE
Muntané Full Balance (“MFB”) believes that the healthiest bikes are built adapting their frame geometry to the body and oscillatory movement of each person. And the perfect adjustment of a bike to its rider and its movement can only be achieved through a customised bike.
MFB’s work philosophy is to prioritize the athlete’s health and achieve high performance by reducing discomfort and accumulated neuromuscular fatigue. On this page you can discover more about the process to create your own MFB bike.
1 - COMPLETE STUDY OF THE PERSON
With all the reference points marked, a photometry session is carried out to provide all the necessary information to design the customised bike geometry. The photometry session includes a complete analysis of:
- Body measurements
- Movement analysis
- Analysis of the positioning of the person on the bicycle
The study will take place face-to-face in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Catalonia (Spain)
FRONT PART (1,2,3)
Steering angles with maximum values of 67.5° (1), a “reach” shorter than the current trend (2), are combined to adjust to the oscillatory movement of each person’s body.
This head tube angle comes with 72mm (3) of fork travel which has been determined to be optimal for the movement being sought.
REAR PART (4)
It is determined by the optimal hip position. The position of the rear wheel in relation to the hip is essential to achieve the balance we are looking for.
STEM AND HANDLEBAR (5)
It works with longer stems than the current trend, usually with values from 100mm, and serves us to adjust the amplitude of the oscillatory movement of the body.
The optimal width of the handlebars should not exceed the measure that our arms can absorb, as it forces us into an “open elbows” position, which impairs the body’s upward and flat swing movement and control of the direction in closed angles.
2 - GEOMETRY DESIGN
Based on all the data collected in the study, a geometry is designed that perfectly fits the person and their body movement following the MFB concept and the type of bike that is chosen (XCO, enduro, descent, gravel , road, walk…)
FABRICACIÓ QUADRE
FABRICACIÓ PLATINA SUSPENSIÓ
3 - MANUFACTURE OF FRAME AND FORK OR PLATINUM IN THE CASE OF MTB
In Campmajó we will take care of shaping the bicycle either in aluminum or steel. We offer a wide variety of options to choose from, internal wiring, weld polishing, paint type…
From Campmajó we also machine the 7075 aluminum bridges to incorporate the 72mm advance in the suspension fork that the customer has previously chosen.
Also offered is the option of rigid aluminum or cr-mo steel fork.
4 - DELIVERY
Once the product is finished, the customer will be notified to be sent or picked up at our factory in Tarragona. The customer can choose whether we do the assembly of the components or he takes care of it. If we do it ourselves, the components must be sent to our factory.
